Shiatsu, Acupressure, Tui na, Cupping are often used in combination with acupuncture and Low Intensity Laser Therapy

Shiatsu

“Shiatsu” literally means “finger pressure” and is also described as acupuncture without the needles. The technique uses the thumbs (as well as fingers, palms, elbows, knees and feet) to apply holding pressure on selected acupressure points around the body.

The treatment also includes exercises, rotations and stretches of limbs, joints and meridians. What makes Shiatsu unique is that it combines diagnosis and treatment detecting energy imbalances before there are any symptoms making it a wonderful preventive therapy.

Shiatsu, based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), believes that disease is a result of an imbalance of chi energy in the system of channels known as meridians. Treatment aims to unblock this flow of energy in order to bring about healing and balance to the body, mind and spirit. In Western medical terms Shiatsu works by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to calm and relax the body.

A shiatsu  can be used simply for relaxation to relieve stress and tension or as a therapy to treat specific conditions both of which will leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!

Acupressure

Acupressure involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to improve health:

- What it is

Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, but uses fingers or other tools instead of needles. It's based on the idea that the body has 14 meridians, or energy pathways, that connect the surface of the body to internal organs. Pressing on these points, called acupoints, is thought to encourage the flow of "qi", or life energy, through the body.

- What it can help with

Acupressure can help with a variety of conditions, including:

Pain, Nausea and vomiting, Stress and anxiety, Sleep troubles, Sinus pressure ...

Tui na

Tui na is an ancient Chinese massage technique and alternative therapy that uses pressure, kneading, and other techniques to promote the flow of energy in the body:

- What it is

Tui na is a type of massage that's part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It's based on the idea of meridians and collaterals, and uses techniques to stimulate specific areas of the body. The goal is to restore the flow of Qi, or energy, throughout the body.

- What it's used for

Tui na can help with a variety of conditions, including muscle and joint pain, headaches, constipation, and insomnia. It can also be used as a preventative measure.

- How it's performed

Tui na practitioners use a variety of techniques, including kneading, pressing, rolling, shaking, and acupressure.

- How it's combined with other treatments

Tui na is often used in combination with other TCM treatments, such as acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapy that uses suction to increase blood flow and promote healing:

- How it works

A practitioner places inverted cups on the skin, which creates suction that pulls the skin and blood to the surface. This is thought to increase the body's natural healing response.

- Benefits

Cupping is said to help with a variety of conditions, including:

Pain relief, such as from arthritis, back pain, neck pain, headaches, and migraines

Breathing issues, such as asthma and the common cold

Digestive problems, such as bloating, gastric reflux, and constipation

Musculoskeletal pain, such as chronic lower back pain and fibromyalgia

- Safety

Cupping is generally safe when performed by a trained professional, but side effects can include mild discomfort, burns, bruises, and skin infection.

- Suction methods

There are several ways to create suction in the cups, including manual pumping, electrical pumping, and fire cupping
